August Schedule SUNDAY, AUGUST 10, 2008---The Japanese Bible Study Class will meet at Riverdale Baptist Church (307 Warrior Drive) at 9:30 a.m.  We will study “What Does The Bible Say About Money?”  Japanese translation, Bibles, and children’s classes are provided.  Children are also welcome to stay in the class with us. MONDAY, AUGUST 25, 2008—Summer Swim and Play Day—Japanese ladies and preschool children are invited to come swim and play on the playground in Indian Hills from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.  If it rains, I will send an e-mail letting you know we are cancelled by 8:30 on 8/25. If you are interested in playing tennis, please let me know and I will send you the “Tennis Lady E-mails”.  It’s okay if you are a beginner.  We have players of all levels.  We have a great time and get a lot of good exercise.  I’m still thinking about the tennis schedule for this fall.  If you can play, please let me know what times/days are good for you.  The Friday Bible Study Class will start again in September.  We will also have a "Back To School Lunch" at Miller's Grocery in September.  I'll send you the September schedule later. Directions to Riverdale Baptist Church: From South Church Street in Murfreesboro, turn right onto Warrior Drive.  (There will be an Eckerd’s Drugstore on the corner of Church Street and Warrior Drive)  Riverdale Baptist Church is located on the left at 307 Warrior Drive.  The church is located between Stones River Apartments and Tivoli Place Apartments.  The parking lot is behind the church.   Our classroom is close to the entrance.  Someone will be at the door to greet you and show you the classroom.       Japanese Bible Study Classes: The Japanese Bible Study Classes are very relaxed and informal.  They are designed for Japanese people who want learn about the Bible.  All class members are given a Japanese/English New Testament, an English Holy Bible, and a children’s Bible.  Childcare is provided for children of all ages.  Your children are also welcome to stay in the Bible Study Class with us.  Riverdale Baptist Church has 2 Japanese Bible Study Classes.   Both classes meet once a month.  There is a Wednesday morning class and a Sunday morning class. Wednesday Morning Japanese Bible Study Class: This class is for Japanese ladies and children.  It meets once a month.  The class starts at 10:00 a.m. and ends around 11:15 a.m. This class has a short English lesson, Bible Study time, and a question/discussion time.  The lesson is presented in English and is translated into Japanese for you.  Childcare is provided by Japanese ladies and Riverdale Baptist Church members.  They will take good care of your children.  The children’s class also has a short Bible story time. Sunday Morning Japanese Bible Study Class: This class is for Japanese men and women.  It meets once a month.  The class starts at 9:30 a.m. and ends around 10:45 a.m.  This class has a Bible Study time and a question/discussion time.  The lesson is presented in English, but it will be translated into Japanese for you. Childcare is provided by members of Riverdale Baptist Church members.  They will take good care of your children.  Your children are also welcome to stay in the adult class with us. Other activities: English Conversation Day: English Conversation Day meets once a month.  It is held at the Bible Study teacher’s house.  She will teach you how to cook an American recipe.  She will help you with your English.  You don’t have to speak English well!  It is a very relaxed atmosphere and a good place to practice your English.  Preschool children are welcome to attend. Christmas Party: We have a Christmas Party at the teacher’s house in December.  You and your family are welcome to come see an American house that is decorated for Christmas. Play Days for Children: Play Days for Children are held at the Indian Hills Neighborhood playground.  We usually have a short Bible Story time, a short craft time, and a long play time. Easter Party: We have an Easter party for ladies and children in the spring.  We decorate Easter eggs and have an Easter Egg Hunt.  We have a short story time about the true meaning of Easter. Tennis for ladies: We try to play tennis once a week on a weekday morning at the Indian Hills Tennis Courts.  It’s okay if you are a beginner.  We aren’t too serious about our tennis.  We just have a good time while we get some exercise.  We have extra tennis rackets and balls that you can borrow.  Just bring some ice water and join us!
